Computing infrastructure products allow developers to tackle challenges like reliability and scalability, challenges that are a consequence of the increasingly critical nature that software plays for any modern company. Solutions emerge, often in the open source, and enterprise adoption follows, leading to standardization and strong winner-takes-most dynamics. In this market, the engineers who constitute the early adopter population have become an economic force empowered by growing budgets and buying influence. 

Despite its growth over the past few years, we are still in the early days of cloud infrastructure; most companies run on legacy products and many parts of the stack are yet to be disrupted. At the same time, AI applications have accelerated the demand for additional data points and compute. As both cloud and AI mature, we expect a deep rethink of how we create, deploy and manage infrastructure.
